Security threats: Cracker thrown at TV channel office

Police cordoned off the site and the injured were taken to Services Hospital

LAHORE:
Four people, including two policemen, were injured on Tuesday in a cracker attack at Din News office near Cavalry Bridge. “Two motorcyclists hurled a cracker and fled,” Model Town SP Capt (r) Mustansir Feroz said. The attackers also threw a note carrying the letterhead of Daulat-i-Khilafat-i-Islamiya, police said. Police cordoned off the site and the injured were taken to Services Hospital. CCPO Amin Wains said the threat of attacks against media outlets already existed. He said he and the Operations DIG had visited several media houses recently to review security arrangements. He said security at the outlets would be enhanced. A few days ago, Home Department had issued a warning about possible attacks on some personalities and media outlets.
