Military operation demanded against katcha criminals
All Parties Convention in Rahim Yar Khan demands operation against gangs of robbers and bandits.

An All Parties Convention in Rahim Yar Khan has given a 10-day deadline to the administration to launch a millitary operation against the gangs of robbers and bandits hiding in the katcha area on the Punjab-Sindh border.
They said that the parties would meet again soon to review progress on their demands.
The meeting was convened at the Jamaat-i-Islami head office here. It was attended by Punjab Bar Council vice chairman Mumtaz Mustafa, former MPA Mian Mumtaz Ahmed, Jamiat Ulema Pakistan district president Riaz Noori, Jamiat Ulema Islam tehsil president Maulvi Abdul Hameed, district aman committee chairman Abdul Rauf, Jamaat Islami district amir Noor Muhammad, Tehreek-i-Insaf district president Raheel Ahmed Khan, National Khidmat Party chairman Amaar Nazir Baloch, Fiqah Jafferia’s Sheikh Manzoor Hussain, MQM’s Iftikhar Mughal, Sunni Tehreek’s district convener Muhammad Arshad, Sunni Ittehad Council’s Sahibzada Abu Turab and PPP Shaheed Bhutto representatives.
A complete shutter-down strike was observed in the city on Wednesday in protest against the rising kidnapping for ransom cases. The strike call was unanimously supported by traders associations, bar councils and political and religious parties.
All big markets of the districts remained closed. These included Sadiq Bazaar, Shahi Road, Spray Market, Railway Road, Jadeed Bazaar, Nishter Bazaar, Banu Bazaar, Jamia Qadria Road, School Bazaar, Saddar Bazar, Dastageer Centre, Sunara Bazaar, Muslim Bazaar, Nishat Cinema Road, Adda Gulmarg, Circular Road, Akbar Road, Airport Road, Hospital Road and Old Post Office Bazaar.
One protest was staged in front of the office of the district coordination officer in Rahim Yar Khan.
Another demonstration was staged at Ghausia Chowk in Sadiqabad. The protestors, led by National People’s Party senior vice chairman Syed Mir Fazal Elahi and Anuman Tajran president Khalid Saleem Chaudary, took out a rally that concluded at the Ghalla Godown Chowk, where another demonstration was held.
Other participants included former tehsil nazim Dr Taloot Salim, Anuman Tajran general secretary Mian Ehsanul Huq, Maulvi Fazal Mehmood Haideri, Qari Shahid Mehmood, Sharif Faridi, Mian Javed Iqbal, Inam Bari, Abid Rana, Abdul Aziz, Saeed Ahmed, Chaudary Ishtiaq and Khalid Mehmood.
They condemned the government for its failure to control the kidnapping for ransom and robbery cases in the district.
The protestors said they would observe a complete strike from January 7 to Januray 13, during Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s tour to the district to inaugurate an industrial estate. They said the police officials were not capable of dealing with the terrorists and demanded that the army should be called in to launch an operation against the criminals. The protestors also demanded the removal of Kot Sabzal and Ahmed Pur Lama SHOs Mehr Nasir Sial and Mehr Saeed.
