KHAR: A local supervisor of polio vaccinators was gunned down outside his clinic in the Khar tehsil of Bajaur Agency Sunday evening.

Khar’s Political Tehsildar Faiz Muhammad said Mir Wali Khan was standing outside his private clinic in the Haji Lawang Kalay area when gunmen riding motorcycles shot him dead. The assailants managed to flee unidentified and unchallenged.

Khan was a medical technician who had worked at the Agency Headquarters Hospital Khar. He had recently served as the supervisor for a polio immunisation team in the area.

After the attack, the political administration launched a search operation in the area led by Assistant Political Agent Muhammad Ali.

At least five suspects have been detained under the collective responsibility clause of the Frontier Crimes Regulation.
