Guard killed, another injured in Gujar Khan

Assailants open fire after security guards stopped them from entering an oil well

GUJAR KHAN: A security guard of an oil well was killed and another got injured by armed assailants in Gujar Khan on Friday.

Police said that four armed assailants attempted to enter Oil Well-16 in the Jatli area of Rawalpindi, and when the security guards stopped them they opened fire and fled.

As a result, one of the guards died on the spot and another sustained bullet injuries.

Following the incident, the local police reached the spot and shifted the deceased and the injured guard to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Gujar Khan for medico-legal formalities and treatment. The police have registered a case and further investigation is under way.
