High Achievers: GCU students win debating contests

GCU Vice Chancellor Hassan Amir Shah has congratulated Kafeel Zar on their achievement

LAHORE: The Debating Society of the Government College University (GCU) has won All Punjab Bilingual Declamation Contest 2015. Students from 16 educational institutions across the country participated in the contest hosted by the Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO). The SUPARCO had arranged the contest in connection with its International Space Week celebrations. GCU’s Rana Muhammad Kafeel was declared the best speaker in Urdu. Ali Zar, also from the GCU, received the first prize in the English humorous category. He delivered a speech on the topic, English is a funny language. Wajeeha Naseem from a private college stood first in the English serious category. GCU Vice Chancellor Hassan Amir Shah has congratulated Kafeel Zar on their achievement.  Zar told the media that debates broadened students’ vision and helped in their personality development. “They also promote tolerance among students.”
