ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has directed the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to take action against the Capital Development Authority (CDA) officials who have facilitated the establishment of illegal settlements in Islamabad. A statement issued by the Interior Ministry on Monday said a letter had been dispatched to FIA to initiate the action. It said the FIA would investigate and ascertain who in the CDA and other departments were involved or facilitated the setting up of illegal settlements in the capital. Cases would be registered against those found involved and they would be arrested, the statement said. The FIA has been directed to complete the inquiry at the earliest.  The statement said that with the connivance of these officials, not only the illegal settlements were established and land grabbers encouraged but city’s master plan was also affected.
