LAHORE:

In a bid to unveil the truth regarding the Medialogic controversy and to bring transparency to the media rating system, famous political analyst and Express News anchor Javed Chaudry has made three demands from the state.

Commenting on the issue in his live programme, Kal Tak, on Tuesday night, Chaudhry demanded that a joint investigation team (JIT) – comprising personnel of all intelligence agencies – should be formed to probe the issue of alleged blacking mailing and subsequent kidnapping attempt by a media rating company.

He also demanded that the Medialogic employee Shaista, who along with her family participated in his show, should be provided protection as their lives were in danger following their revelations.

Javed Chaudhry said the issue also highlighted the flaws in the existing media rating mechanism and demanded that state should develop some other mechanism. “The current crisis shows how a media rating company has been given the power to make or break a channel in the existing system,” he said.

Narrating her plight, the Medialogic employee Shaista told the audience how she was compelled and forced into signing forged documents against her will and how her family had to bear the brunt of her refusal.
