FAISALABAD: Power loom workers called off a week-long sit in and announced that they would return to work from Saturday. Owners of power loom factories in Sadha Sector said that they would reopen their factories. The standoff was resolved after DCO, Noorul Amin Mengal and CPO Afzaal Ahmad Kausar held an 8-hour-long mediation with owners of power loom factories and labour leaders. Mengal requested both sides to maintain cordial relations and said the district administration would do its best to protect the rights of owners and workers and help settle disputes.  He urged factory owners to reopen their factories without delay. CPO Afzaal Ahmad Kausar said the police would not allow anyone to disturb industry operations.
