Extra help: Summer camp at public schools to start tomorrow

Summer study camps in public schools of the city will begin from Monday (tomorrow).

“Participation in the camps is voluntary. The purpose of arranging the camps is to prepare students for the upcoming academic year,” a Schools Department official told The Express Tribune on Saturday.

The official said the camp would continue till August 12. He said classes at the camp would be held for three hours everyday from 730am to 10:30am. He said the camp had been started on the directive of Education EDO Pervaiz Akhter.

A senior teacher at Township High School said all preparations for the camp had been completed at the school. He said camp timings had been displayed at the school premises. “We have informed all teachers about the camp,” he said. He said besides coaching students on the curriculum of the upcoming academic year the school also intended to prepare them for the Independence Day celebrations.
