Managing Elections: ECP notifies ROs for local govt elections

The ROs are responsible for managing the entire electoral process in their assigned districts

HYDERABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan has notified the Returning Officers (ROs) for the upcoming local government elections in Sindh. The ROs consist of nine regional election commissioners (RECs), 14 deputy commissioners (DCs), two Board of Revenue members and three Sindh government officials. According to the Sindh Information Department, the RECs will act as the ROs in the districts of West Karachi, East Karachi, Malir, Korangi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Mirpurkhas and Shaheed Benazirabad. Meanwhile, Jacobabad, Kashmor Kandhkot, Umerkot, Tharparkar, Sanghar, Tando Allahyar, Dadu, Jamshoro, Badin, Thatta, Sujawal, Ghotki, Khairpur and Kambar Shahdadkot districts will have the DCs act as ROs. The ROs are responsible for managing the entire electoral process in their assigned districts.
