The Multan Metro Bus Project will provide 700 permanent jobs on its completion, said Multan Division Commissionaire Capt (r) Asadullah Khan on Tuesday.

“The jobs will be at the Metro Bus Authority’s booking, driving and workshop sections.

The Metro Bus will be a model transportation system. It will benefit people belonging to all walks of life including students, traders and labourers,” he said. He said that the authorities were taking steps to complete the project in record time.

Talking to The Express Tribune, a university student, Tabassum, said that people were anxiously awaiting the completion of the project. “It will facilitate me and other students in reaching their educational institutes in time,” Tabassum said. The business community also praised the project. “This project will help boost trade activities in the city,” said Muhammad Moosa, a trader.
