Pakistan Academy of Letters (Pal) Chairperson Dr Muhammad Qasim Boghio has expressed deep grief over the sad demise of fiction writer and renowned novelist Abdullah Hussain, said a press release on Saturday.


In a condolence message, Dr Boghio said that Abdullah Hussain was one of the finest novelists of the country. He had written more than 10 novels. His novel “Udas Naslain” became widely popular both in Urdu and English languages, and is considered one of the greatest novels written in Urdu language.


Dr Boghio said that Abdullah Hussain’s death had deprived the country of a great novelist.


Pal Director General Zahida Parveen also expressed condolence over the death of Abdullah Hussain.


Abdullah Hussain was 84 years of age and was suffering from blood cancer.
