Best foot forward: ‘Universities Act to benefit education’

The universities will have high qualified and experienced academicians as their heads

PESHAWAR: Minister for Higher Education Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani under the newly-introduced University Act, highly qualified, experienced and well-reputed people would be appointed as vice-chancellors of public universities in the province. Speaking at a news conference at the Peshawar Press Club on Thursday, the provincial minister said reforms introduced for colleges and universities by the present government would bring drastic changes in the higher education institutions of the province within six months. “The universities will have high qualified and experienced academicians as their heads and will generate their own resources,” he said. Ghani added that the Hazara University and Kohat University will have its new vice chancellors in the near future.
