LAHORE: The government will build model graveyards in Lahore, Multan and Sargodha districts.

According to a statement issued by the Directorate General of Public Relations (DGPR), the Shehr-i-Khamoshan projects will be completed by respective district governments.

A toll-free helpline will be set up for providing information about the graveyards. “The graveyards will provide burial assistance, hearse service and a shuttle service to transport the grieving family, bathing arrangements, an area for funerals and a mortuary,” the statement said.

In Lahore, the graveyard will be set up near Rakh Jhedu village on Ferozepur Road.

The chief minister has constituted an implementation committee, under the chairmanship of Khawaja Ahmad Hassaan, to complete the project.
