MoU signed: NADRA to improve LTC operations

LTC officials said that the project would focus on the operations and maintenance of their system

The Lahore Transport Company (LTC) and the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on Saturday to electronically manage route permit and challan systems and parking stands.The agreement was signed at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat.

Under the agreement, radio-frequency identification (RFID) technology will be used in the route permit system for obtaining statistics, checking validity of documents and the route authorisation of public service vehicles. The system will be initially installed on the low occupancy vehicles routes such as mini buses. It will be beneficial by preventing pilferage of revenue.


LTC vice chairman Mehr Ishtiaq, NADRA Project Director Col (r) Taimoor Rathor, NADRA Director General Tahir Akram, LTC CEO Khawaja Haider Latif, Chief Technical Officer Badiur Rehman, Mariam Khawar, Umar Pirzada, Shafique Ahmad, Atif Memon and Communications Deputy Head Nasir Hussain were present at the ceremony. LTC officials said that the project would focus on the operations and maintenance of their system.
