VIDEO: American 'burgers' put bun kebab to the test

US Consulate staffers record their reactions as they try the famous ‘desi burger’

In what seemed rather ironic, US Consulate employees in Karachi -- let's call them 'burgers' (because who is more 'burger' than the Americans?) -- put to test its famous desi version, the bun kebab.

In a video released on Wednesday on their Facebook page, the staffers shared their first experience tasting the bun kebab.

Five US Consulate staff were part of the intriguing video. To start off, some of the employees were perplexed over whether they were supposed to pour the chutney over the bun kebab or to devour it the other way around.



“It looks a little friendly,” one employee said.

While one of them couldn't handle the spice “It's got a more spiciness than we are used to having in a hamburger." Another said it wasn't too spicy. But aside from the spice factor, the verdict on our favourite street food was great across the board.



“This is good,” one said. “This is delicious,” another added. One employee went as far as saying, “This is why I love Pakistan.”

Another US staff member also suggested a name for it. “I am going to call this roti chutney,” he said.
