ISLAMABAD: The government has decided to launch a national talent hunt programme to discover new artists and singers from all across the country, said Director General Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (PBC) Syed Imran Gardezi.

Addressing a function organised by PFUJ and IMI news agency, titled Sham-e-Qalandar, he said that Radio Pakistan would dispatch its team across the country at district and tensile levels to explore national talent hunt from whole Pakistan.

He said that saints like Shahbaz Qalandar devoted their lives for preaching Islam and his teaching could help eradicating extremism and terrorism from the country.

Gardezi praised the efforts being made by PFUJ and IMI News Agency’s editor Syed Tabassum Abbas Shah for making this programme successful.

The chief guest presented awards to performers including Ustad Khurram Ali Khan of Chakwal Party, Farhat and Musarrat, Kazim Ali, Ustad Ulfat Ali, Ustad Asad Abbas, Syed Najam Shah, Qari Abdullah, Hafiz Shamraiz and Aahtazaz Naqi for their best performance on occasion.

President PFUJ Afzal Butt said they would continue to arrange programs to remember the teachings of saints as well as national and provincial days. While remembering his contribution for media developments president PFUJ hope that Imran Gardezi will continue to play his role in future for the media person’s welfare.

The Chakwal Party and other performers mesmerised the audience by their performances. Chairman CDA labour Union Choudhary Yaseen, President OPF Union Shakeel Naqvi and other personalities attended the evening.
