KARACHI:

The University of Karachi (KU), Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (SSUET) and the Board of Intermediate Education, Karachi, (BIEK) will announce the new dates for cancelled exams on Friday.

Final exams of many institutes, including KU, SSUET, BIEK, Sindh Board of Technical Education and Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology, were cancelled late on Wednesday night in the wake of the day of mourning announced by the Muttahida Qaumi Movement following the custodial death of a worker. Meanwhile, NED University and Institute of Business Administration conducted their papers as per schedule on Thursday. Sindh Board of Technical Education announced that their cancelled papers will now be held on June 16.

"We didn't cancel our paper because we can't waste a day and decided to conduct the paper as scheduled," said NED University vice-chancellor secretariat spokesperson Muhammad Anis Khan.

According to BIEK examinations controller Imran Khan Chishti, the new date for the cancelled exams will be announced after Friday prayers. "We have to manage many other things before announcing a new date," he said.
