May 23 incident: CM removes two SPs

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah has ordered the removal of two SPs with immediate effect and constituted a two-member committee of senior officers to inquire into the incident of May 23.

He took the decision at CM House on Friday while presiding over a meeting in the light of the court orders issued into the contempt case of the siege of the Sindh High Court on May 23. The meeting was attended by chief secretary Siddique Memon, law secretary Mir Muhammad Shaikh and others.

The chief minister, taking a serious view of the police action on May 23, constituted a two-member committee of senior officers, the chairperson of the Chief Minister Inspection Team, Subhan Memon, and works and services secretary Mumtaz Ali Shah to investigate the matter and submit a report within 10 days.

Meanwhile, the chief minister ordered the removal of two SPs, Zeeshan Siddiqui of District South and Asad Raza of District Central, with immediate effect.  Both the police officers were deployed at the Sindh High Court on May 23.

Rs9m reward announced for ISI, SSP West, Rangers

Shah announced a Rs3 million reward for SSP West Captain Azfar Mahersar and his team for conducting a raid in Orangi and recovering a heavy contingent of arms and ammunition. Since the operation was conducted on the intelligence work of an ISI team, therefore the chief minister also announced a Rs3 million reward for the ISI team.

Please leave the charge to a deputy Chief Minister if you are not going to step down. It is better if you do Allah Allah and try to get a house in heaven if you were considered keeping your track record
