BAHAWALPUR: Police said on Thursday that a suspect had attacked three women and a minor with acid in Fazilpur village near Rahim Yar Khan.

Officials said Abdul Samad had thrown acid on Chanan Mai, Rukhsana, Saado Mai and four-year-old Muhammad Jamshed after forcibly entering their house. Police said Samad had fled from the spot after attacking the people. Officials said he appeared to have taken the step after his impending marriage to Saado was called off.

Police said the injured had been taken to a health centre in critical condition. Officials said Jamshed had been later shifted to Bahawal Victoria Hospital. Police said a case had been registered against Samad on the complaint of Muhammad Javed, Saado’s brother. Officials said police were searching for the suspect.
