KARACHI: A district and sessions court sentenced on Wednesday a man to seven years in prison after convicting him of a four-year-old robbery case.

Muhammad Bux was arrested in December 2011 by the Railway police on charges of robbing a passenger, Din Muhammad. According to complainant Muhammad, he was on the way to his native town of Dera Nawab Sahab, Punjab, on Zakariya Express Train and was waiting at the Landhi station, when a person, who later identified himself as Bux, approached him. They boarded the train together and, during the journey, Bux offered him a cup of tea.

The complainant added that he became unconscious after drinking the tea. Meanwhile, Bux, taking advantage of the situation, took Rs5,500 cash and a mobile out of Muhammad’s pocket. As he gained consciousness, Muhammad found himself mugged and expressed his suspicion that Bux was responsible. A heated argument ensued and the Railway police reached their bogie. Upon searching the suspect, the robbed items were found from his possession and he was taken into custody.

After hearing the case at length, the top judge of Malir district, Farooq Ali Channa, convicted Bux of the offence and sent him to jail for seven years. Moreover, he was ordered to pay a fine of Rs10,000. If he fails to pay the fail, he will undergo an additional 30-day imprisonment.

Pakistani | 8 years ago | Reply For robbery of Rs5,500, you can go to prison for seven years and for billions you can go to PM house or President house for at least 5 years, in a land called call Pakistan.
