Overseas Pakistanis Commission vice chairman Khalid Shaheen Butt said on Tuesday the government was doing its best to protect the life and property of overseas Pakistanis.

He was speaking at a convention arranged by the Pak-Qatar Business Forum. Overseas Pakistanis Commissioner Afzaal Bhatti, Overseas Commission Police Director Syed Ahmad Nadeem and Board of Investment Director General Lubna Pathan were also present.

Bhatti said the government was committed to resolving problems of overseas Pakistanis. “The establishment of Overseas Pakistanis Commission is proof of this,” he said. He said the commission was using a modern system to address complaints within a month.

He said of the 500 complaints received by the commission over three months, 300 had been redressed.

Pak-Qatar Business Forum president Ahmad Hussain praised Pakistani businessmen investing in Qatar. He said the demand for skilled Pakistani manpower had risen in Qatar. He informed participants of the convention about the incentives being offered to foreign investors in Pakistan by Pak-Qatar Business Forum.

He said Pakistan should set up a task force to avail job opportunities to be created ahead of the 2020 Football World Cup in Qatar.

Later, the participants attended a seminar arranged by the Pakistan Welfare Forum, Qatar.
