Cabinet meeting approves budget strategy paper

The cabinet meeting was held after three months due to alleged differences between PM and Chaudhry Nisar

ISLAMABAD: Budget strategy paper 2015-2016 was approved on Tuesday by the Cabinet in a meeting being held at the PM office.

The federal cabinet devised strategy on budget proposals while Senator Ishaq Dar apprised the cabinet about total volume of next budget, targets of tax revenue generation, receipts and development funds.

The finance minister presented on the performance of the finance division while secretary finance gave a presentation on Budget strategy paper.

Prime Minister Nawaz suggested that the budget should focus on providing maximum relief to the people so that they can also reap the fruits of stability in country's economy. He directed the commerce ministry to gear up efforts to increase the country’s exports. PM Nawaz Sharif also appreciated the fact that key economic indicators have improved during last two years.

The cabinet meeting was held after an interval of three months due to the alleged differences of PM and Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan.
