KARACHI:

Sindh information minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan and the chief justice of the Sindh High Court to take notice of former provincial home minister Zulfiqar Mirza’s criminal activities, also requesting the courts not to grant him bail.

Talking to the media after the Sindh Assembly session on Wednesday, Memon said that Mirza and his supporters attacked a police station and threatened police personnel while displaying illegal weapons. “Not only is this an unlawful act, it also challenges the writ of the government,” he stated, adding that Mirza had used abusive language against the Pakistan Peoples Party leadership.

“Unfortunately, the TV channels are broadcasting his derogatory language and despite our repeated requests, the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority has taken no action against him.”
