Gunmen shoot dead two policemen in Peshawar

The two officials were patrolling between the Khyber Agency and Peshawar when unidentified assailants shot them.

PESHAWAR: Unidentified gunmen shot dead two police official near the Hayatabad area of Peshawar on Saturday evening.

The two officials were on routine patrolling in Shakas area which is the boundary between the Khyber Agency and Peshawar when suddenly unidentified gunmen from the tribal area across the boundary opened fire.

The policemen, Muhammad Tayyab and Pir Ghulam died on the spot, while heavy contigents of police later reached the reach and launched a search operation.

The bodies of policemen were shifted to the Hayatabad police station.
