LAHORE: Three people were killed in separate incidents in the city on Wednesday.

Niaz Baig check post police said 25-year-old Saima*, wife of Muhammad Akbar, was at her house in Gulshan Town when Rameez, her brother-in-law, barged into the house with a rifle and spoke harshly with her. Saima argued back and Rameez shot and injured her. She was taken to Jinnah Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. Police said the body had been sent to a morgue for an autopsy.

SI Muhammad Iqbal said Rameez suspected his sister in-law of using black magic to kill his mother. He said that Rameez had asked Akbar to divorce Asma but he had refused.

He said they were waiting for the woman’s family to file a complaint with them before they would conduct raids to arrest the suspect.

Separately, a man was murdered allegedly by his rivals in Mansoora Bazaar. Hanjarwal police said 32-year-old Gulfam Khan of Amna Park was on his way to Multan Chungi when four men armed with weapons stopped him in a street near Kehwa Chowk and shot him. Khan was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.

Police took the body to a morgue for an autopsy and registered a case against four suspects on the deceased’s father Rana Khan’s complainant.

Hanjarwal SI Asghar said Gulfam Khan of Budh Bair, Peshawar, was on his way to his to Hafiz Electric Store where he worked.

His rivals, Mubark Shah, Abdul Basit, Habib and Shahid, shot him dead, the FIR says.

Police said Rana Khan told them that his son was killed by rivals from their hometown in KP.

In another incident, two unidentified people killed a man in Johar Town. Police said Mehmood Khan, a property dealer, was on his way to his office on his car. Two men on a motorcycle shot him near Allah Hu Chowk and fled. The man died on the spot.
