DERA GHAZI KHAN:

Provincial Assembly Member Abdul Aleem Shah said on Sunday that the Town Municipal Authority (TMA) would launch a crackdown on illegal housing colonies.

He said 48 colonies had been issued notices by the TMA for registration but no one had responded.

“Nobody will be allowed to put up a housing colony signboard and hoodwink people,” he said.

He was talking to the Colony Developers’ Association in Dera Ghazi Khan.

TMO Chaudry Tahir was also present.

Colony Developers’ Association president Malik Muhammad Rafique Awan and general secretary Mian Javed Iqbal gave written recommendations to the MPA.

They demanded action against illegal housing colonies.

They said conversion fee should be reduced and approvals should be made easier.

They said submission of TMA fee should be allowed by instalments.

They said the area allotted to housing colonies should be demarcated by a revenue official.

They said transparent documentation of property transfers was vital.
