CHARSADDA:

Two school-going children were abducted and wounded by unidentified men in Charsadda on Wednesday.

Tangi Sub-divisional Police Officer Abdul Rasheed Khan confirmed that *Muqaddas and *Noman, students of grade six at Muhammad Pati Government Middle School, were heading to their educational institute when they were picked up by unidentified men on main Malakand-Charsadda Road on the border with Mohmand Agency.

The boys appeared to have knife wounds, inflicted during the attempted abduction. Their cries alerted locals who rushed to their aid and took them to a hospital in Dargai, Malakand Agency, forcing the abductors to escape from the site.

One of the children said he was on his way to school when six men, whose faces were covered, tried to kidnap him. The boys started crying and that is when things took an ugly turn. He said the kidnappers tried cutting their throats but passers-by managed to release them from the knife-wielding men.
