Back safe: Families delighted as relatives return from Yemen

Women, men and children danced to the beat of drums and distributed sweets

Emotional scenes were witnessed on Monday at Multan Airport where relatives of 11 Pakistanis that had been stranded in Yemen received them with tears and joy.


The 11 men who landed at Multan Airport were among 134 people who reached Islamabad by a special PIA flight from Yemen on Sunday night.

Women, men and children danced to the beat of drums and distributed sweets.

Talking to newsmen Kashif Khan, Nadeem, Sohail Akram, Suleman, Khurram, Irfan, Mazhar, Imran Raza, Muzammil, Haji Siddique and Waqas said they were delighted to be back.

They thanked Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Pakistan’s ambassador to Yemen for facilitating their return after their passports were withheld by their sponsors.
