Govt increases petrol prices by Rs4

Prices of kerosene, HOBC and light diesel oil remain unchanged

ISLAMABAD: The government increased the prices of Petrol and High Speed Diesel by Rs4 and Rs3, respectively.

After the due approval of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Federal Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar on Tuesday announced the increase in the prices of two petroleum products, petrol and high speed diesel, from Rs70.29 and Rs80.61 to Rs74.29 and Rs83.61, respectively. Acting against the advice of the Oil and Gas regulatory Authority (Ogra), the government has decided to retain the current prices of Kerosene Oil, High Octane Diesel and Light Diesel Oil.

The new prices will be affective from April 1, 2015.

Earlier, Ogra had proposed the following Increase on the basis of the actual purchases made during the month of March 2015.
