Islamophobia & the German plane crash

Religion and ethnicity seem to be leading people being condemned, not their actions.

Letter March 27, 2015

KARACHI: A Germanwings aircraft, carrying up to 150 passengers, was crashed deliberately into the French Alps by the co-pilot of the plane. Andreas Luditz, 28, is reported to have hijacked the plane after barring the pilot from entering into the cockpit and then proceeded to guide the plane straight into the ground. Inquiries into the pilot’s background were made as soon as officials and experts concluded the act was deliberate. What’s most disturbing is the train of thought that the authorities concerned have followed, taking care to state that Luditz was “not affiliated with any terrorist groups”.

As much as the world campaigns for being liberal and open-minded thoughts, does the general public at large shut its eyes to the atrocities committed by non-Muslim members of the global community? Religion and ethnicity seem to be leading people being condemned, not their actions. This is the common, albeit sickening, practice. I am confident that within the next few days, a report regarding Luditz’s perilous state of mental health and his struggle with depression will be released to the public. Everyone can calm down now, it wasn’t the ‘Moslems’.
