Saleem said Tooba’s original plan was to kill her former husband Babar Javed Butt.

He said she had killed Abeera for refusing to cooperate with her in executing the plan. He said Tooba had also confessed to killing one Yousaf Khokhar, a cameraman for a TV channel and a friend of her ex-husband’s. The SSP said Tooba had poisoned the cameraman. His body was found from a park in Model Town two months ago.

The SSP said Butt and Tooba had been married seven years ago. He said they had divorced in 2013. She had told police Khokar had provided Butt with some of her pictures which led to their divorce.

Tooba told police that after no one found out she had killed Khokhar, she began plotting her ex-husband’s murder.

The SSP said Tooba told them that Butt was responsible for the death of their two-month-old daughter. Tooba claimed that Butt had refused treatment for their ailing child.

She said Butt had asked her to accompany him to a party a day after their daughter died. Officials discovered Tooba had filed a complaint against Butt, accusing him of raping her after which he agreed to marry her.

The SSP said Abeera had wanted to become a model and she met event manager Tooba for a career in the modelling at a hotel. Saleem said a month before her death, Abeera had started living with Tooba, when the latter told her about her plan to murder her ex-husband by poisoning him. Tooba told interrogators Abeera agreed to help, but later back down.  She said Abeera began “taunting” her over the plan. She said she then decided to poison her in connivance with Farooq and his friend Zeeshan, who provided her cyanide for purpose for Rs20,000. The SSP said all three were formally arrested and their challans would be presented in court.

sania | 9 years ago | Reply the death of a child can do alot of things to a mother. shes probably mentally disturbed and didnt seem to have good people around her to help. avenging the death of her child (if what shes saying is true) would be a natural instinct for many mothers.
