ISLAMABAD:

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Thursday arrested five accused including two Capital Development Authority officials after a court cancelled their pre-arrest bail.

The suspects, including CDA Assistant Director Fareedudin and AD Sadaqat Hussain and three property dealers, are accused of  tampering with documents for a residential plot in Chak Shahzad worth million of rupees. They were taken into custody by the FIA after a special court judge cancelled their pre-arrest bails.

The accused allegedly transferred the plot on forged documents after the death of the owner.

Last month, an FIR was registered against eight persons including two former CDA board members — Tahir Shahmshad and Khalid Mirza — and former director Wasim Shamshad - who was also a suspect in the Kuri Model Village scam.

“Efforts are under way to arrest the rest of the nominated accused,” said an FIA investigator.
