Amplifier act: Four booked for violating section 144

The police also seized a sound system, a laptop computer and two loudspeakers from their possession.

The police booked four persons including two clerics under the Amplifier Act during the last 24 hours, said a press release. 


The Ratta Amral police booked Muhammad Qasim, cleric of Jamia Masjid Firdausia in Dhoke Mangtal, and Tauseeful Hassan, cleric of Jamia Masjid Hanfia in Railway Colony, after they allegedly violated the law during their Friday sermons.


Meanwhile, the Civil Lines police arrested Muhammad Aqeel and Waqas at Sir Syed Road on charge of violating section 144.


The police also seized a sound system, a laptop computer and two loudspeakers from their possession.


Islamabad Police had also booked two clerics on Saturday for using loudspeaker during Friday sermon.
