Lok Sabha, Lowe house of Parliament, was informed on Tuesday that during 2014, six people were arrested on espionage charges for allegedly spying for Pakistan in India.
Among those arrested, five are Indians and one is a Sri Lankan national.
"During the current year-2014 (till December 17), six espionage modules have been neutralised in the country resulting in the arrest of six persons along with information and documents relating to various establishments in the country. Out of these six accused, five are Indian and one is a Sri Lankan national," Minister of State for Home Haribhai Parathibhai Chaudhary claimed in a written reply.
The minister further said the government is pursuing a well coordinated and multi-pronged approach to tackle espionage activities in the country which include strengthening vigilance on the borders to check infiltration and illegal cross-border activities, close interaction and coordination between different agencies of the centre and state governments, strengthening and up-gradation of state police and security forces.

@Dipak: Bro, countries have their spies in all other countries. India must have had sent its spies to Pakistan which is why we saw the Karachi airport attack and the Peshawar school attack.
Nothing new. In realty, Pakistan has thousands of spies in India. Otherwise Mumbai attacks would not have occurred.
India, largely a destitute society with low self esteem, will continue resorting to such tactics to place itself as a victim of terror, mainly for its progressive and freedom based values just like the west.
