Four held: Bids to smuggle heroin foiled

The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) foiled three separate attempts to smuggle heroin to abroad and arrested four passengers at Benazir Bhutto Airport.


The ANF arrested a British citizen who was travelling and seized 10kg of heroin from her. The woman, identified as Ruqia, 47, was booked for the UK on a foreign airline.


The woman is a native of Quetta and currently settled in Glasgow. In another incident, the ANF intercepted a Toyota Corolla (SY-232) at the airport parking lot and seized 10kg of heroin concealed in secret compartments. The team took Muhammad Waqas and Majid Farooq, into custody.


The suspects were scheduled to fly to Italy. The ANF intercepted a consignment containing 340 pieces of chldren’s clothing at a courier service office and seized 2kg of heroin. The consignment was destined for the UK, an ANF official said.
