LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan has warned the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz government of increasing the pressure by the day, as his party prepares for a third 'shutdown' as part of its "Plan C", this time in Lahore.

“Today Mian sb, I give you a clear message, if you are serious in not damaging the country and if you are sincere in talks then the matter can end in 48 hours,” the PTI chairman said, while addressing his workers in Lahore, ahead of his shutdown on December 15 as part of his “Plan C.”

Imran pointed out that if the government was “serious” about negotiations, dialogue would have started by now.

After successfully shutting down Faisalabad and Karachi, the PTI chairman has called for a shutdown in Lahore on Monday.

“Our shutdown in Karachi was peaceful, we did not pressurise anyone and people shutdown their businesses voluntarily,” he said, adding, “We want the same to happen in Lahore.”

Explaining his workers the plan of action for the shutdown, Imran said, “You should talk to traders and give them my message that if they want revolution, they should shutdown but if they are happy with the system, they should keep their businesses running.”

“Through peaceful protests like the one in Karachi, we are making a news system and not shutting down at gun-point or under pressure.”

Admitting he made a mistake during his shutdown in Karachi, he said, “I am not sure whether they were our people or not but some people misbehaved with media and that is not acceptable.”

“I urge the Lahore team to take care of the media and make ways for ambulances to pass,” he said.

Further, he warned the PML-N against repeating the Faisalabad tragedy, when PML-N and PTI workers clashed, resulting in the death of a PTI activist.

"If you unleash your gullus on us, PTI workers will respond befittingly and you will be responsible for it,” he said.

PTI to block 18 points in Lahore on Monday

PTI Lahore District’s president Abdul Aleem Khan announced on Saturday that they will block 18 points in Lahore on Monday.

The points include Shahdara chowk, Bhatti chowk, Babu Sabu, Charing Cross, PMG chowk, Mughalpura chowk, Bhatta chowk, Walton chowk, Liberty chowk, Thokar Niaz Beg, Raiwind road, Chuburgi, LHC chowk, Mozang Chungi and Chungi Amar Sidhu.

Meanwhile, PTI Punjab president Ejaz Chaudhry led a PTI mobilization campaign on Mall Road on Saturday.

The rally included general secretary Dr Yasmin Rashid and information secretary Andaleeb Abbas. They distributed flyers and pamphlets while urging commuters and business owners to join their protest on Monday.

PTI workers and supporters also blocked main Mall road for a few minutes and changed ‘GoNawazGo’ before returning to the pavement.

“We are trying to convince them to close their shops and support our call. We are not forcing anyone. We believe in reaching out to the people, the decision will be theirs,” said Andleeb Abbas.
