Promoting education: PEF extends project to all districts

Press Release November 17, 2014

LAHORE: The Punjab Education Foundation has extended the Subject Based Support Programme (SBSP) to all the 36 districts of the province to promote quality education in low-fee private schools to improve the teaching standards. Previously, this programme was functional in 22 districts, a statement issued by the foundation stated. According to the PEF spokesman, the PEF provided subject specialists teachers of mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and English to the partner schools. “They also try to improve the overall academic standards at the schools where they are deputed to work six days a week. Low-fee schools in remote areas will be preferred for partnership,” the statement said. Private schools, with an enrolment of at least 100 students in their middle to secondary classes, can apply for partnership by November 24.
