KARACHI: Turkmenistan authorities on Friday issued a notice to Pakistan International Airlines over nonpayment of fees related to using the country’s airspace for international flights, Express News reported.

The national carrier uses Turkmenistan’s airspace for flights to Europe and Canada.

Aviation authorities of Turkmenistan have asked PIA to pay the dues by November 3.

Earlier in April this year, the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation had sent a similar notification to PIA regarding nonpayment of dues worth millions of rupees.

PIA has been suffering losses worth billions since many years and its accumulated dues have been on the rise.

Its more than VIP culture. Its eastern apathy at its best. Ghost schools, ghost teachers, ghost employees, and in the case of PIA most likely Ghost planes that never flew to Turkmenistan in the first p!ace. Let's split the foreign exchange and make sure it never reaches the State bank of Pakistan ( fully owned subsidiary of WB)
