MANSEHRA:

A young woman was allegedly kidnapped by two men from the urban limits of Mansehra, police said on Wednesday.

City police quoted Abdul Latif of Shaukatabad Khaki village saying his niece Rukhsana Bibi*, 23, went to Frontier Education Foundation College for Women in Mansehra city on Tuesday to sit the exam for primary school teacher’s certificate.

However, she did not return home and Latif later went to the college to enquire about her whereabouts.

There, Latif was told Muhammad Waseem and Ahmed Nawaz had kidnapped Rukhsana at gunpoint as she was on her way home.

Police then registered cases against the two accused on Latif’s complaint and conducted raids on their houses, but the men had managed to flee by then.

A police officer suspected the woman was in a relationship with one of the two accused, but her family rejected the notion.
