Global dignity day: Students resolve to protect personal dignity

Children wrote letters to themselves in which they resolved to work for protecting their personal dignity

To educate children about the concept and importance of human dignity, students of Mashal Model School and Master Ayub’s Street School joined hands to celebrate the Global Dignity Day on Thursday.


To recognise the right of every human being to lead a dignified life, the third Wednesday of October is celebrated as Global Dignity Day. The day is  a non-profit and non-political initiative of the Young Global Leaders of the World Economic Forum.


Children wrote letters to themselves in which they resolved to work for protecting their personal dignity and that of others. The purpose of the day is to educate and inspire children and youth in particular about the concept and of human dignity.


“The purpose to commemorate the Global Dignity Day is to sensitise society to respect the dignity of every human,” said Iqbal Jatoi, the country manager of Right to Play More than 40,000 students in 10 districts of Sindh, K-P and Islamabad are participating in global dignity sessions which will continue till October 18.

The thing that needs attention was ignored. Not a word from Media to which Dignity is a stranger and like all good children they don't talk to or about strangers.
