Train collision in Karachi's outskirts leaves one dead

The assitant was onboard the Pak-Business Express that collided with a train carrying goods on the same track

KARACHI: An assistant driver of the privately-operated Pak-Business Express was killed and many others sustained injuries on Tuesday, when the train rammed into a goods train at Ranpathani Railway Station in the outskirts of Karachi.

Pakistan Railways Divisional Commercial Officer at Karachi Nasir Nazir confirmed the death of the assistant driver.

“According to initial information, the assistant driver died in the accident and the Pak-Business Express has bumped into the goods train on the track,” he said.

The accident has reportedly affected the movement of trains from Karachi to the northern parts and vice versa.
