Pakistan Transport Authority South Zone (PTA-SZ) acting chairperson Amir Majeed warned authorities on Friday about potential criminal activities and snatching of animal hides and skins during collection on Eidul Azha.
In a statement, he urged the relevant authorities to immediately repair the damaged portion of Road-5000 in the Korangi Industrial Area in front of the National Refinery. "The traffic flow is affected due to this damaged patch of the road, slowing down vehicles," he said. "Criminals take the opportunity to loot the commuters."
He expressed concern that the obstruction of traffic at this point could help criminals loot and hijack truckloads of hides and skins making their way to the Tannery Zone from various parts of the city during Eidul Azha.
"We have repeatedly approached the Korangi district deputy commissioner, the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation administrator, the Sindh chief minister and the Karachi commissioner to resolve this problem, but in vain," said Majeed.

How about paying attention to the road on Mauripur Road, SITE near PAF Masroor Base. This is the only road going from the city towards the beach. It was repaired just last year and has been in bad shape for months. Currently, it is in so bad shape that there is a traffic jam daily. This is shopping season for our bikers who robbed 3 cars within 1 minute and i was also robbed on the same road. THIS location is 1 minute from away from PAF Masroor Base. Point is that until our Police is not clean to arrest the criminal and the courts can take action without political pressure all this will continue and continue to increase. It is the responsibility of the state to look after it citizen before the citizens take the law into their hands and become vigilantes.
No hope for Karachi. For every citizen there are two criminals.
