Preserving languages: Dr Hameed appointed NLPD head

Noted literary figure, Dr Rashid Hameed, has been appointed as the executive director of the National Language Promotion Department (NLPD) of the Ministry of Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage.


Earlier, Hameed was working as the deputy secretary of the department.

He has also performed duties as the director general, director and chief editor at Pakistan Academy of Letters.

Literary figures have appreciated the posting and expressed hope that the move will support the promotion of Urdu.
