Two suspected criminals and an alleged Lyari gang member were killed in encounters with the police, while seven suspects, including target killers, were arrested on Tuesday.
Two criminals were killed during an exchange of fire with the police in Memon Goth. Police officials said that the encounter took place when a routine police patrol came upon four men on two motorcycles looting passers-by.
Separately, an alleged gang member, Ali Jhatpat, was killed during an encounter with the police in the Kalri area of Lyari.
His accomplice, Rahim, was also arrested in an injured condition.
Meanwhile, the Rangers conducted an overnight raid at a residential apartment in Gulistan-e-Jauhar and apprehended five criminals affiliated with a political party. The suspects were shifted to an undisclosed location for further questioning, said the Rangers spokesperson.
Separately, an alleged target killer was arrested after an exchange of fire with the police in Baloch Colony.
