Inflation: Index rises 0.2% during week

The SPI for the combined income group also rose 0.18%

ISLAMABAD: The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) for the week ended September 18 registered an increase of 0.20% over the previous week for the lowest income group. The SPI for the group stood at 209.70 points against 209.28 in the previous week, according to provisional figures released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. The SPI for the combined income group also rose 0.18% from 217.06 points in the previous week to 217.46 in the week under review. Compared to the corresponding week of last year, the SPI for the combined income group was higher by 7.09%. During the week, average prices of eight items in a selected basket of goods fell, prices of 22 items increased and the remaining 23 items recorded no change.
