LAHORE:

A demonstration by the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) at Liberty Chowk continued for the fourth day on Friday. Party workers burnt utility bills on PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s call for civil disobedience.

The Insaf Students’ Federation (ISF) continued its sit-in at Lalik Chowk although the PTI leadership had asked the group to join the party’s protest at Liberty Chowk, a party official said requesting anonymity.

“PTI office-bearers may arrange a protest rally at Tokhar Niaz Beg, GT Road, Ravi Bridge or at the Punjab Assembly… and close roads from Saturday (today),” said Waqas Aslam, the Insaf Youth’s Wing information secretary.

Aslam said the sit-in would continue everyday until 12pm.

Nadeem Iftikhar said he had brought his entire family.

“The PTI is against the atrocities of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz. Imran Khan is the only leader who can steer the country out of crisis,” Iftikhar said.

Farid Khan, one of the participants, said he was from Bajaur Agency and doing business in Lahore.

“Imran Khan is my leader. PTI will create a new Pakistan,” Khan said.

The sit-in started at 8pm, one-and-a-half hours behind schedule. The organisers had arranged face painting for the participants.

Main Khalid, and his wife had set up a stall to sell briyani and dahi bhallay for sit-in participants at Liberty Chowk.

“We spend the money on the education of five orphan girls,” Khalid told The Express Tribune.

“The girls cook briyani and prepare dahi bhallay for us. This is our second day here. We make about Rs5,000 a day,” he said.

“I am doing this to educate the girls. My father wanted me to do this.”

His wife said they had a passion to help the girls.

“We earlier set up a stall at the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s sit-in in Islamabad for three days,” she said.

Yes this is the "Naya Pakistan" PTI wants when they listen to music and dance to late night parties - a Pakistan where lawlessness rules, people can protest with a few thousand marchers and demand whatever they want, pay no bills and no use dirty language. They don't want Naya Pakistan - they working to ensure "No Pakistan" through anti state behavior.
