GUJRANWALA: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Saturday issued a non-bailable arrest warrant for Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Dr Tahirul Qadri and declared 71 workers belonging to his party ‘proclaimed offenders’.

Justice Chaudry Imtiaz, who was presiding over the court, also ordered concerned authorities to publish the names of the suspects, wanted under Section 87 of the PPC. He extended the judicial remand of 102 detained PAT workers by six days. In addition to that, the ATC judge directed police officials to finalise and produce the challans against the PAT activists in court by August 29.

On August 10, men armed with clubs, allegedly affiliated with PAT, attacked policemen in Gujranwala.
