F-9 park: ‘CDA plants over 18,000 trees’

The Senate was informed that 32 different kinds of trees including Khati, Dhreek and Jaman have been planted in park.

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has planted over 18,000 trees in the Fatima Jinnah Park in Sector F-9 during the last five years, Senate was informed on Friday. The ministry of cabinet division informed the Senate that the civic agency planted 18,432 trees of different kinds in the F-9 Park from 2010 to 2014. The ministry provided the information in response to a question asked by an independent senator from the Federal Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) Muhammad Idress Khan Safi, who sought completed break up of the plantation in the park. The Senate was informed that 32 different kinds of trees including Khati, Dhreek and Jaman have been planted in the park. A total of 15,150 trees were planted by the directorate of parks while 3,282 trees were planted by the project management office of the CDA.
