Tragic turn: Two killed, 13 injured in road mishap

Of the 13 injured, five are said to be in critical condition.

Two passengers were killed and 13 others injured when a jeep fell into a roadside gorge near Garlat on Friday.


Eyewitnesses and injured passengers said the overloaded vehicle was carrying 15 passengers returning from Kaghan Valley when the driver lost control of the vehicle.


As a result, the jeep skid and plunged into the gorge, killing two passengers on the spot. Of the 13 injured, five are said to be in critical condition.


The deceased were identified as Khwaja Bashir and Jehangir Malik, residents of Athmuqam in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Those injured are Khwaja Rasheed, Safeer, Khani Zaman, Muhammad Asif, Ramzan, Ali Gohar, Raqeeb, Hameed, Afzal, Shabbir, Rehm Jan Bibi, Naghma Bibi and Momina Bibi.
